McNulty Wins Weikert Award
Junior Avery McNulty of the Muhlenberg track & field and basketball teams won the Sidney G. Weikert Sophomore Athlete of the Year Award for her performance during the 2023-24 academic year. The award was presented at halftime of Saturday's Alumni Weekend football game against The College of New Jersey.
The annual award recognizes athletic achievement with accompanying campus contribution and strong academic record. It was established in 1973 by the Muhlenberg College Alumni Association in memory of the late Sidney G. Weikert, a loyal alumnus and former associate director of admissions at Muhlenberg.

McNulty is a three-time Centennial Conference champion in the high jump, winning the gold medal both indoors and outdoors as a sophomore in 2024. She also won the high jump at the All-Atlantic Regional Track & Field Championships last winter, tying a 23-year-old school record with a mark of 5-5, which tied for the 28th-best in Division III.
McNulty won the high jump outdoors and was the runner-up indoors at the 2023 CC championship meets. She also placed in the javelin at the CC championship meets in each of her first two seasons, finishing seventh in 2023 and sixth in 2024.
On the basketball court, McNulty has played in 49 of the Mules' 51 games the last two seasons, averaging 3.9 points and 2.5 rebounds as a reserve forward. She finished third on the team in blocked shots both years and recorded a double-double at Westfield State as a sophomore.
