The Mules finished the regular season on a roll, going 8-1-4 over their final 13 games to earn the third seed in the CC playoffs for the second consecutive year.

Teams that won in the first round have done exceptionally well in the CC playoffs the last two seasons; in fact, none of the top two seeds advanced past the semifinal round, and the third seed hosted the championship both years. In 2022, Muhlenberg was seeded fifth and went on the road three times in a week to capture its seventh CC title with a win in penalty kicks against third-seeded Johns Hopkins. Last fall, the Mules hosted the championship game as the third seed, falling 1-0 to fourth-seeded Johns Hopkins in the final after defeating Dickinson and Franklin & Marshall.

Muhlenberg wrapped up its regular season with a convincing 4-0 win against McDaniel on Saturday, scoring three second-half goals against a Green Terror team that had allowed only 11 goals in 16 games all season. The Mules also began their 2022 championship run with a rematch, defeating Gettysburg 1-0 just three days after playing the Bullets to a 1-1 draw in the regular-season finale.

Muhlenberg has an all-time postseason record of 43-35-9, including a 12-8-3 mark in CC playoff games and a 21-12-4 home record. The Mules have won their first game in each of their last six postseason appearances.

Picked to tie for last place in the preseason poll, McDaniel is making its first appearance in the CC playoffs since 2005. The Green Terror is 2-4 all-time in CC playoff games, including a 1-0 overtime win in 2001 in the only previous postseason meeting between the two teams.

Tickets for all Centennial Conference playoff games are $10 for adults and $5 for senior citizens and students age 6 through high school. Students, faculty and staff from CC schools and children under 5 are admitted free.
