Women's Wrestling Wins Home Debut on Last-Second Pin
A pin in the final bout gave the Muhlenberg women's wrestling team a 19-14 win against Misericordia in its first home dual match ever.
Prior to the match, the Mules honored their two seniors, Penelope Schneider and Jaime Kaufman, pictured above with their families.
Schneider's team-leading fourth technical fall of the season at 138, combined with a pair of forfeit wins for Muhlenberg, sent the match between the two first-year programs into the final bout tied at 14-all.
Freshman Karla Lazaro fell behind 4-2 and just barely avoided getting pinned before catching her opponent in a headlock and pinning her in front of the Muhlenberg bench with just one second left in the first period. It was the sixth pin of the season for Lazaro.
