Field Hockey Hangs Tough with No. 17 Ursinus
In the first of three consecutive games against nationally ranked opponents, the Muhlenberg field hockey team was tied in the fourth quarter before falling to Ursinus, 2-1.
The 17th-ranked Bears (5-3, 1-1) scored midway through the second quarter for the lone tally in the first three periods, which featured only eight total shots by both teams.
The Mules (5-4, 0-2) won a penalty corner early in the fourth quarter, and junior Abba Diglio converted a pass from senior Erin Jackson for her ninth goal of the season.
Ursinus took the lead back less than three minutes later, however, and held on for the win.
Muhlenberg hosts fourth-ranked Johns Hopkins on Saturday before traveling to 10th-ranked Bryn Mawr next Wednesday.
