Rubino Named Player of the Week
For the fourth time in his career, Muhlenberg senior Giovanni Rubino was named Centennial Conference men's basketball player of the week.
Rubino tallied 25 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the Mules to a 78-62 win at Moravian. He was efficient shooting the ball, going 10-of-16 from the field, including 3-for-4 from three-point range, and made both of his free throws.
Rubino played all 20 minutes of the second half, scoring 12 points and dishing out three assists without a turnover against a Greyhound team that was pressing fullcourt, to help Muhlenberg pull away from a three-point halftime lead.
It was the second consecutive game with 25 or more points for Rubino, who is sixth in the CC in scoring at 17.1 points per game and has moved into 14th place on the Mules' all-time scoring list with 1,308 career points. He also is second in the CC in assists per game, averaging 4.7.
