Women's Tennis Blanks Cedar Crest

The Muhlenberg women's tennis team picked up its first win of the year, shutting out Cedar Crest.

The Muhlenberg women's tennis team picked up its first win of the year, shutting out Cedar Crest.

The Mules lost only 13 games in the nine matches, with five of the six singles players winning at least one set at love. Freshmen Alexandra Downey at No. 4 and Taylor Current at No. 6 both posted 6-0, 6-0 shutouts.

Downey dropped only one game in her two matches, teaming with sophomore Caitlin Bestrycki for an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles. Current, in her Muhlenberg debut, and Bestrycki lost only two total games. 

Senior Sophia Framm (pictured above) won 6-1, 6-2, for her first career victory at No. 1 singles. 

In the second of their two weekend matches, the Mules were blanked indoors by Albright.
