Women's Basketball Drops Home Finale
The Muhlenberg women's basketball team was eliminated from playoff contention with a 66-55 loss to Ursinus in its last home game of the season.
The Bears (16-8, 10-4) scored the first six points of the game and never gave the lead up, although the Mules (15-9, 6-8) kept it close until the third quarter. It was 39-34 early in the third before Ursinus went on a 12-2 run to put the game out of reach.
Senior Emily Unger scored 23 points, two short of her career high, in her final home game. She made five three-pointers to move into fourth place on the Mules' all-time list with 162 for her career.
Senior Rachel Saxton (pictured above) finished with 13 points, a team-leading 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals, and sophomore Lyndsey Costigan netted 10 points.
