The Muhlenberg men's basketball team scored 47 points in the second half to come from behind and beat Washington College, 75-66.

The Muhlenberg men's basketball team scored 47 points in the second half to come from behind and beat Washington College, 75-66.

The win snapped a four-game skid for the Mules (9-14, 2-9), who prior to the game honored their lone fourth-year senior, Luke Gordos (pictured above with his family).

Muhlenberg trailed by as many as 12 points in the first half but responded with a 13-0 run to take the lead on a layup by Gordos. It was a one-point game, with the Shoremen (7-16, 2-9) ahead, at halftime.

The teams seesawed back and forth at the start of the second half before the Mules started to pick apart Washington's zone. They connected on five straight three-point tries - two by sophomore Peter Stanton-Shepherd and one apiece by fifth-year senior Giovanni Rubino and freshman Arinze Achufusi and Drew Buck - in a 17-2 run that stretched the lead to 18 at the eight-minute mark.

Washington never got closer than seven points the rest of the way.

Stanton-Shepherd tied his career high with 22 points, going 5-of-7 from three-point range and adding a dunk. He also pulled down 9 rebounds.

Sophomore Elias Sherman-Murphy added 17 points, while Buck matched his career high with 14 points. Rubino finished with 13 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds.
