After playing regular-season games decided by 29 and 23 points, the Muhlenberg and Dickinson men's basketball teams met in the middle.

In a special tiebreaker game to determine the sixth and final seed in the Centennial Conference playoffs, the Red Devils (11-15) pulled out a thrilling 70-67 win to earn the right to face third-seeded Franklin & Marshall in a first-round game. The Mules ended their season with a record of 8-18.

Although the Mules never led, they overcame a 14-point deficit to tie the game in the first half and climbed out of an eight-point hole to draw even in the second half.

Senior Giovanni Rubino drained a jumper with 2:32 left in the second half to tie the game for the final time, at 61-all. The Red Devils hit a three on the next possession and held off Muhlenberg the rest of the way, surviving a potential game-tying three-point attempt in the final 10 seconds.

Rubino finished with 31 points for his fourth career 30-point game, two of which came in the postseason. He scored 19 of Muhlenberg's 31 points in the second half, including the final eight.

Junior Jayson Williams-Johnson added 17 points.

The Mules trailed 28-14 with 7:30 to go in the first half but clawed back into the game with a 14-2 run that featured seven points apiece by Rubino and Williams-Johnson. Rubino's layup in the final minute knotted the score at 35.

Ahead by one at the break, Dickinson scored the first seven points of the second half to open up an eight-point margin. Again Muhlenberg came back, drawing even at 52-52 when Rubino put back his own missed shot at the 11:41 mark.
