Football Brings Top-Ranked Offense into McDaniel Game
The 2024 Muhlenberg football team has featured a prolific offense - the best in Division III through the first five weeks of the season.
Entering tomorrow's game at McDaniel, the Mules lead Division III in total offense, averaging 562.3 yards per game. They are also first in passing offense, at 355.0 yards per game, and 24th in rushing offense, at 207.3 yards per game. Only two other Division III squads - East Texas Baptist and Grove City - rank in the top 25 in both passing yards and rushing yards per game.
The Mules are on pace to shatter the school records for total offense per game in a season (469.0, set in 2016) and passing yards per game in a season (305.6 in 2021).
Only four other teams in NCAA football (all four divisions) average more yards per game than Muhlenberg, and only four average more passing yards per game.
Leading the offense is senior quarterback Joe Repetti, who paces Division III in both passing yards per game and total offense yards per game. In total offense, he averages 426.8 yards, more than 40 more than the second-place quarterback.
The only other NCAA quarterback with a higher average in total offense per game is also a Mule - Zach Zebrowski of the Division II Central Missouri Mules.
Repetti also is second in Division III in points responsible for per game and fourth among quarterbacks in yards per carry. He is tied for third among active Division III quarterbacks with 108 total touchdowns (87 passing and 21 rushing) and is just 97 yards away from the school record for career rushing yards by a QB (1,472).
The potent Mule passing offense will face a stout McDaniel defense that has allowed a Centennial Conference-low 143.5 passing yards per game and ranks 19th in Division III in pass efficiency defense.
