The Muhlenberg women's soccer team was edged at Elizabethtown, 2-1, in its first game of the 2024 season.

Muhlenberg opened the scoring in the 28th minute on its first shot of the season on a play that started when freshman Devon Cheeseman stepped up to pick off an Elizabethtown pass. Seconds later, sophomore Ivy Dias took a pass from freshman Rose Larner in the corner and sent a ball all the way across the field that went over the head of the goalie and settled inside the back post. It was the second career goal for Dias, both of them coming against Elizabethtown. Last year, she netted the winner in a 2-1 defeat of the Blue Jays in the first game of her career.

Elizabethtown tied the game a little more than two minutes later.

Outshot 13-2 in the first half, the Mules turned up the heat out of the break, taking three shots in the first 10 minutes. But it was the Blue Jays who broke the deadlock with a goal in the 58th minute.

Sophomore Megan Stairs, making her first career start in goal, recorded 10 saves.
