The Muhlenberg volleyball team ran into some tough competition and was swept at Eastern in its first midweek match of the season.

Eastern has been to the NCAA Tournament 14 of the last 15 seasons and received 25 votes in this week's Division III poll.

Muhlenberg best chance to win a set came in the second, after the Eagles took the opening set 25-17. The Mules (2-4) took a 21-20 lead on a kill by junior Christina Marcin, but Eastern (5-1) closed on a 5-1 run to take a 25-22 win and closed out the match by capturing the third set, 25-14.

Marcin (pictured above) led the Mules with 9 kills and only one error in 21 attempts. Freshmen Ansley Asche and Maddy Budris split setting duties, combining for 24 assists.
