Football Ranked 21st in Preseason Poll
Muhlenberg is ranked 21st in the D3football.com 2024 preseason poll.
This is the ninth time in the last 10 seasons that the Mules are predicted to be one of the best football teams in Division III. Last year, they received votes in the preseason poll, and in 2022, they were ranked 11th.
Muhlenberg is coming off a season in which it went 10-1, reaching double digits in wins for the sixth time in program history and earning a postseason berth for the 19th time in the last 23 seasons. The Mules outscored their opponents by an average of almost 20 points per game and capped their season by defeating Lebanon Valley in a Centennial-MAC Bowl Series game to win a postseason game for the sixth consecutive season. Their only loss came in the last second to Johns Hopkins.
Muhlenberg was ranked 22nd in the final D3football.com poll of 2023 and returns seven All-Centennial Conference selections, including the CC offensive player of the year.
The Mules, who are scheduled to open their season on Saturday, September 7, with a non-conference game at Moravian, have posted 13 straight winning seasons, compiling a tremendous 116-33 (.779) record during that span.
