Dawson Named Rookie of the Year
Muhlenberg first-year Veronica Dawson was named Centennial Conference women's basketball rookie of the year.
The first Mule ever to win the honor since it was instituted in 2013, Dawson led all CC rookies in scoring and rebounding, averaging 11.0 and 6.3, respectively. She ranked second on the Mules in both categories and led the team in blocked shots (21) and free throws made (70) and attempted (100).
Dawson scored in double figures in 12 of the 24 games in which she played and rebounded in double figures four times. She recorded three double-doubles, including an 18-point, 13-rebound effort in a win at DeSales.
Dawson was named to the Coaches vs. Cancer all-tournament team after helping Muhlenberg to the championship, and her addition to the roster was a big factor in the Mules winning 15 games for the first time since the 2018-19 season.
