Dalimonte Earns All-America Again
For the third time in his career, James Dalimonte '23 received honorable mention on the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Division III All-America team.
Dalimonte, who recently became the first player in program history to earn first-team All-Centennial Conference honors three times, is now the first Muhlenberg lacrosse player to earn All-America recognition three times. He was previously honored in 2019 and 2022.
The midfielder came back from an early injury to score 28 points on 24 goals and 4 assists this past spring. He led the Mules by a wide margin and ranked seventh in the CC with 19 goals in league games.
Dalimonte finished his career second on the program's all-time lists in points (141), goals (109) and hat tricks (19).
Dalimonte joins the short list of Muhlenberg athletes who have earned All-America laurels in three different years. The others are Ryan Curtiss in football (2017-19), Joshua Carter in football (1999-2001), Cody Antonini in men's soccer (2009-10 and 2012) and Matt Loesch in wrestling (2005-07).
Muhlenberg had an outstanding 2023 season, finishing with an 11-6 record to tie the school record for wins in a season. The Mules went 5-3 in the CC, qualifying for the CC playoffs for the second straight year and hosting a CC playoff game for the first time. Muhlenberg was ranked in or just outside the Division III top 20 all season, going 4-3 against teams that earned NCAA Tournament bids.
