Men's Soccer Ranked Fifth in Region

The Muhlenberg men's soccer team is ranked fifth in Region V in the first United Soccer Coaches poll of October.

The Muhlenberg men's soccer team is ranked fifth in Region V in the first United Soccer Coaches poll of October.

The regional rankings have a decidedly Centennial Conference flavor, with CC squads taking up the first five spots:

1. Dickinson (8-1-1)
2. Franklin & Marshall (4-0-5)
3. Swarthmore (7-1-1)
4. Johns Hopkins (5-2-2)
5. MUHLENBERG (5-2-2)
6. York (Pa.) (5-0-4)
7. Scranton (4-2-2)
8. Lycoming (6-2-1)

The rankings came out before the midweek games. The Mules improved to 6-2-2 with their 2-0 shutout of Haverford, while Swarthmore fell to Washington College, 3-2.

Muhlenberg handed Dickinson, the top-ranked team in the region, its lone loss to date, and tied Johns Hopkins. The Mules also have a 2-0 win against Lebanon Valley, the team ranked eighth in Region IV.
