Men's Soccer Comes Back for Draw
The Muhlenberg men's soccer team remained undefeated in Centennial Conference play with a 1-1 tie at Gettysburg.
The regionally ranked Mules (6-2-3, 2-0-2) conceded an own goal late in the first half to fall behind 1-0.
Early in the second half, though, Muhlenberg equalized after a shot by freshman Thomas Shreiber was saved. The ball was headed over the end line for a corner kick, but Shreiber kept it in bounds and cut it back to classmate Saleem Diakite, who banged it into the net.
It was the second goal for Diakite (pictured above), who is one of six Mules tied for the team lead in goals. Shreiber has recorded a point in two of his three career games.
Neither team managed a shot on goal after Muhlenberg tied the score.
This is the second straight year that the Mules are undefeated through their first four CC games.
