Three Named Lacrosse Scholar All-Americans

Three members of the Muhlenberg men's lacrosse team were named Division III Scholar All-Americans by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association.

Three members of the Muhlenberg men's lacrosse team were named Division III Scholar All-Americans by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association.

Recent graduates Stephen Krug, Matthew Regan and Wyatt Malia (pictured left to right above) earned the distinction. A Scholar All-American must be nominated by his coach and be a student with a senior year academic standing and a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher. He must have behaved in a manner that has brought credit to himself, his institution and to college lacrosse both on and off the field. He must also be an All-American, a member of a North/South team or an outstanding league or conference player.

Krug, a finance major, came on strong down the stretch of the 2024 season to earn All-Centennial Conference second-team honors in his first year as a starter. He compiled an 8.04 goals-against average and .612 save percentage in Muhlenberg's seven-game winning streak at the end of the regular season. In CC play, Krug ranked second with a .562 save percentage and third with a 9.00 goals-against average.

Regan, who graduated cum laude with a double major in accounting and finance, was selected to the Senior All Star Game after battling injuries that limited him to seven games in the 2024 season. A 2022 All-American, Regan was a two-time All-CC selection and finished his career eighth on the program's all-time list with 40 caused turnovers while also picking up 113 ground balls.

A finance major and economics minor, Malia joined Regan at the Senior All Star Game. He closed out his career in 2024 by earning All-CC honors for the third time, making the first team, and going on to receive All-America honorable mention. He led Muhlenberg with 59 points (fourth in the CC and the third-highest single-season total in program history) and scored at least one goal in every game. Malia ended up as the program's second all-time leading scorer with 154 points on 98 goals and 56 assists.

The Mules had a historic season in 2024, recording their best CC record ever, 6-2. Muhlenberg reached the semifinals of the CC playoffs, went 10-8 overall against a challenging schedule, and earned votes in the Division III national poll and an NCAA regional ranking.
