Malia, Regan Selected to All-Star Game
Two Muhlenberg players were chosen to participate in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Senior All Star Game.
Attackman Wyatt Malia and defenseman Matthew Regan will suit up for the South team at the annual classic, scheduled for Friday, May 24, at 4:00 at Widener University.
This is the second straight year that the Mules have had two players selected for the Senior All Star Game.
Malia closed out his career this season by earning All-Centennial Conference honors for the third time, making the first team. He led Muhlenberg with 59 points (fourth in the CC and the third-highest single-season total in program history) while also ranking in the top 10 in the CC in goals (38) and assists (21). Malia scored at least one goal in every game and ended up as the program's second all-time leading scorer with 154 points on 98 goals and 56 assists.
Regan, like Malia a preseason All-American, battled injuries throughout the 2024 season and played in only seven of the Mules' 18 games, recording 15 ground balls and causing 5 turnovers. Regan was a two-time All-CC selection, making the first team in 2022, and finished his career eighth on the program's all-time list with 40 caused turnovers while also picking up 113 ground balls.
The Mules had a historic season in 2024, recording their best CC record ever, 6-2. Muhlenberg reached the semifinals of the CC playoffs, went 10-8 overall against a challenging schedule, and earned votes in the Division III national poll and an NCAA regional ranking.
