Men's Lacrosse Cruises on Spring Break

The Muhlenberg men's lacrosse team got goals from 13 different players and breezed to a 19-4 win against North Central in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Muhlenberg men's lacrosse team got goals from 13 different players and breezed to a 19-4 win against previously undefeated North Central in Nashville, Tennessee.

Senior Tyler Kitchen and sophomore Charlie Falk both recorded their first career hat tricks. Kitchen (pictured above) netted all three of his goals in the first quarter, while Falk put in one in the third and two in the fourth for the first three goals of his career.

Sophomore Chase Kusko tied a school record, achieved once before, with six assists. He added a pair of goal for eight points, just one short of the school record. Kusko now has 13 assists in his last three games and is only the second player in program history with back-to-back games of at least four assists.

Muhlenberg rolled up a big 66-16 advantage in shots, setting a school record for shots in a game, and recorded assists on 14 of its 19 goals, falling one short of the school record in that category.

Junior longstick Luke Schwartzberg picked up a loose ball off a failed North Central clearing attempt and put in his third career goal to give the Mules (4-3) a 1-0 lead about two minutes into the game. The Cardinals (4-1) tied the score on their next possession, but Muhlenberg reeled off the next five goals, three by Kitchen, to take a commanding lead.

It was 8-2 at halftime and 12-4 after three before the Mules scored seven times in the final quarter, including the first career goals for freshmen Matt Kriney and Luc Belvill.

Junior Michael Drago (9-of-11) and senior Griffin Minuto (7-of-10) combined to win 16 of 21 faceoffs.
