Short Named Player of the Week Again

For the second time in three weeks, Muhlenberg sophomore Christopher Short was named Centennial Conference special teams player of the week.

For the second time in three weeks, Muhlenberg sophomore Christopher Short was named Centennial Conference special teams player of the week.

Short averaged 31.5 yards on six kickoff returns in the Mules' 55-52 win vs. The College of New Jersey, coming within four yards of the school record of 193 yards in a game. He had one return of 48 yards and another of 47 yards.

Through three weeks of the 2024 college football season, Short leads not just Division III, but all four NCAA divisions, with 409 yards on kickoff returns. Nearly a quarter of those yards came on a 100-yard return in the season opener against Moravian - one of just two triple-digit returns so far this season in Division III. His average of 29.3 yards per return leads the CC and ranks 21st in Division III.

Short's excellence on special teams has supported a potent Muhlenberg offense that ranks third in Division III in yards per game (576.7).
